Nehemiah is a BAME Housing Association providing affordable housing for a mixed clientele in six local authority areas in the West Midlands.

 

We seek a generic Housing Officer who is:

Scheme Manager Young Families Unit

Wolverhampton

Salary: £21,101 - £22,212 per annum 

Hours of work: 35 per week; Fixed Terms to December 2019

 

Nehemiah  has an exciting opportunity for a Scheme Manager, with responsibilities for a 9 flat Young Families Unit giving support to our customers; Liaising with other agencies; providing advice, advocacy, life skills in preparation for fully independent living.

 

The Job

  • Recognised qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Education or housing to NVQ3 or equivalent; Knowledge of services available via statutory and other agencies
  • At least 12 months experience of working with young people or in the above disciplines
  • Mediation and negotiation, I.T literate, administrative skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of teenage pregnancy and sexual health issues
  • Experience of working within multicultural environment, with awareness of equal opportunities, fair access and diversity
  • Clear DBS Report
  • Communication skills both to residents and wider community
  • Time management & able to work on own initiative.
  • Knowledge of Supporting People and Quality Assessment Framework (QAF) – essential
  • Full Driving licence and car owner

Housing Services Trainee

Salary £18,827 to £19,109

Plus Essential Car User Allowance

 

You will be an individual with commitment and enthusiasm to deliver excellent customer service, wanting a career in housing and support services or property services.  You will need to demonstrate that you are organised, have great IT and numeracy skills.  You will be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.  You will make a difference to your team’s performance working with others and learning from them but taking ownership and responsibility to make things happen.
